Who are we?
Dream team 🤝
Hi, we are Regina (24), a doctor, and Isabelle (24), a health and nursing professional. We not only share childhood memories (we have been friends for over 13 years), but also our passion for medicine and health .
With our Instagram and TikTok page @medicinexcare we already reach more than 200 thousand people.
Our mission with the heart project @my•mense:
We want to break taboos surrounding menstruation, provide education in the area of women's health and offer high-quality, sustainable products for the period.
Hi, I'm Regina
I AM A DOCTOR, BORN IN 2000 IN VIENNA, MY COUNTRY OF ORIGIN IS EGYPT.
Even as a child, I was very curious. I was the typical child who always asked "why" and never wanted to stop learning. I was the typical nerd at school who cried when she got a B because she didn't get an A. There are usually two types of people at school: those who are very gifted in languages and those who are good at science. I was always the latter.
All of this has shaped me into the person I am today. Combined with the desire to be of use in this world and to make my contribution to society, I decided after much thought to become a doctor. And to this day I have never regretted this decision for a single moment. Yes, there were many challenges: especially those after my husband and I got married during my studies and it was a matter of financing our lives.
But all the ups and downs also have advantages, they have made me an even stronger person, a person with clear goals in mind.
Hi, I'm Isabelle
OR SIMPLY ISI, I AM A HEALTH & NURSING WORKER, BORN IN 2000 IN VIENNA.
I knew pretty early on that I wanted to work in the healthcare sector. Since I always enjoyed babysitting a lot, I was sure that the children's sector was exactly the right one for me. My interests then led me to become a pediatrician, midwife, physiotherapist and pediatric nurse.
When I was about 12, I realized that studying medicine was quite long and demanding, and I was therefore interested in a course with a shorter training course that also involved a lot of practical work. So the idea of working in nursing became more and more important to me. Like my two grandmothers, I saw myself working in a maternity ward/nursing room.
But the typical clichés associated with the job of a nurse put me off a little (poor pay, comments like "why don't you just study medicine?" or "you only do personal hygiene, etc."). Shortly before my A-levels, I therefore focused on the professions of midwife and physiotherapist. However, after a two-week internship, during which I was able to accompany a midwife, it soon became clear that this profession did not quite meet my expectations. As far as the entrance exam for the physiotherapy course was concerned, I did not achieve the necessary "points ranking" that would have been required for acceptance.
So I decided to give the "Health and Nursing" course another chance ;) It was a very intensive course with many strenuous but enjoyable internships. And I am very happy that everything turned out the way it did and that I decided on this career, which I am passionate about.
